Do excess b12 cause excess dreams?

I have had a methyl b12 pill and b12 injection same day by mistake and realized afterwards. I was dreaming all night and was not able to stop thinking. Thoughts please.

I've not had that from large amounts of B12.

I do get effects from methylcobalamin that make me feel more irritable and 'antsy'. If I had dreams while feeling like that I could imagine them being nastier than normal.

Not quite what you asked about but I found that I started to dream again when I started b12 treatment after years of not being aware of any dreams.

Me four!

I was sometimes aware of my dreams when B12d but now they're in overdrive. Sometimes I wake up exhausted from all my dream activities!!

One natty thing is I don't have B12d or arthritis in my dreams and can still run!

As my memory has come back lots of things crop up in my dreams that I otherwise wouldn't have cause to remember.

Me five :0)

I used to have awful trouble sleeping but now I can sleep again and do dream a lot more. Some of them are possibly a bit on the anxiety side and I do use the methyl spray on top of hydroxo jabs but it is definitely preferable to waking at 4 a.m. and not getting back to sleep.

I got quite excited when my dreams came back. It was a clear sign for me that the B12 was having an effect.

Last week apparently shouting for my mum ( She died over 20 years ago). Had another injection yesterday and slept right through till 5.30 am. No need to walk about and coffee at 4.00am.

So at least that's one corner turned

I would think that being able to dream again would mean that you are able to sleep more deeply again. You dream the most if you are in REM level of sleep. We go in and out of REM sleep many times during a nights sleep. REM sleep level is when the brain regions are stimulated that are used in learning. Deep sleep is when the body is able to repair itself. There are 4 levels of sleep and I think that being able to dream again may mean the B12 is doing its repair work and allowing you to have normal levels of sleep again.

Ah! I also get extremely vivid dreams with gabapentin (taken for my neuropathy).

Overthinking at night can give you dreams, B12 is a stimulant which may be causing your mind to think more and you dream more as a result.

So yes I would put it down to the B12 as you said it was on that specific day.

Your mind rushes due to being overstimulated.
