Burning feet
Yes CW12 I have suffered with burning feet for years, have a frame at the bottom of the bed to lift the duvet and often ended up with my legs out of the bed.
However my doctor recently prescribed Gabapentin at night and it has helped quite a bit although I guess the colder weather is also playing a part.
I am not medically trained and I wish you well.
You need to see a neurologist. They may be able to determine the cause and should be able to prescribe medication to help it.
I have seen a neurologist. I have had multiple tests and MRI. This is a new symptom. Wondering if it is related to b12 treatment or deficiency... I’m assuming. I had an injection Thursday 11/21. It is subsiding. Was worse this morning
I often post a link to an Australian document that is a reasonable, albeit brief, summary of the possibilities:

Agreed with fbirder that you need some help from a neurologist.
I have read of others with this and B12 D but also that is sometimes one of the symptoms of B5 deficiency so you could look that up ..
I had forgotten about the burning feet. Horrendous isn't it? My feet get quite cold now (glorious).
Have had so many changes in my health since B12 and B9 came into my life.
No more giant clown shoes for me.
My mother, sister and brother all complain about the burning feet. Shared my joy with them but what do I know?
I have dreadful painful and burning feet...although also have Raynauds where they get very cold and white. I suspect mine are peripheral neuropathy...I’ve been told it sometimes happens in Sjögrens. Amatriptaline really helps but makes me terribly foggy and awful nightmares. Gababentin is the next thing to try. I know I need to see a neurologist, but haven’t yet. I know it can also be lack of b12...but I tried a course of injections and it didn’t help. Good luck...it’s really annoying! X
Hi,
Yes I experienced that in past but these days not so much.
Link about peripheral neuropathy (PN) that may be of interest.

There is a syndrome called Grierson Gopalan syndrome which can be associated with Vitamin B12 deficiency. One of the symptoms is burning feet.
Yes.
My feet started off tingling, then burning, then turned into being painful when walking, as if I had pebbles in my shoes. I'd also feel like my feet were wet, as if stepped in a puddle, but were totally dry.
Neurologist said small fibre Neuropathy & offered different types of medication which I refused. I said I'd been self Injecting B12 every other day since Xmas & she told me to carry on & hopefully the damaged nerves may repair in time.
Well she was right & even though the burning is still there, it's not as often, the wet feet feelings are few & far between & the pebbles in my shoes are disappearing.
Good luck.
Yes - it’s peripheral Neuropathy caused by the B12 deficiency. Luckily my GP agreed to give me frequent hydroxocolabamin (3 x weekly) to help heal the nerves.
As I’ve only had the condition for just over 2 months it is almost gone.
The longer it’s left untreated the harder it is to mend.
The guidelines for treatment of b12 deficiency state that you need b12 injections on alternate days until no further improvement.
Good luck.
Hearteningly, along with some of the others above, I had forgotten all about this symptom ! It went, somewhere along the line.
This is good news, because it means that it is possible that this could be the case with you too.
My feet also used to be stiff and painful especially first thing in the morning, hobbling downstairs took a while. I also had something I called "Pricklefoot": which I could only describe as feeling like I'd jumped barefoot off a high wall and landed on a hedgehog. It would bring tears to my eyes and I would be unable to speak for the duration: sometimes 10 minutes. No real pattern and no warning. Luckily, that went quite soon after injections started. Certainly neural.
I had main nerves in hands, feet, legs electrically tested for damage: responses good and none was found, so assuming smaller nerves were involved, which repaired. Get tingling in shins still - but not painful or frequent.
It could be nerves repairing, but if it does not improve with injections or gets worse, do go back to your GP. Injections may need to be more frequent and early repair of nerves more effective.
Yes, I used to get burning feet a lot along with head sweats too. I only became aware of the head sweats when I woke up with soggy cold pillows. After a couple of years of burning feet I also developed dermatitis on my feet which made it even worse. I haven't had any incidence of either since I started with B12 supplement.
Same problem Monthly b12 seemed to have prevented progress. But not sure if it is totally related to my PA. After recent discussions with my GP now take low dose amitriptiline with no adverse effects and my neuropathy symptoms have improved as has my sleep pattern
Yes I’ve had this. During the summer when I was feeling otherwise fit and well my feet were burning and uncomfortable in bed at night. On the odd few days of heatwave they were extremely uncomfortable.
As the weather cooled they felt better just by sticking my feet out of the duvet and now it’s cold they don’t bother me.
That burning feet symptom is more awful than anyone can imagine if they haven't had it. Mine improved with B12 injections, but like so many symptoms, it seems to put in an appearance from time to time. Before I received adequate B12 treatment by self injecting, a dermatologist made up an ointment with 6% salicylic acid and 3 % sulfur that practically saved my sanity. It took a few weeks to heal my feet, but it felt like it gave me my life back. When my feet get bad again, usually in conjunction with other B12 symptoms, I apply it for a few days and the burning stops, sometimes for a month and sometimes longer.
I used to have dreadfully painful feet - real pain plus burning. Indeed I told a gp that if I could cut them off I would. only half joking. However, dear reader, a combination of Pregaberlin and amertriptline has helped so much with the pain - but more often than not I have to stick my hot feel out of the duvet
Yes. I thought I had dry skin and was slathering on lotion until I realized it was yet another B12 symptom! Now if it starts up I know I need a jab.
