No, it definitely isn't what I would expect.
Was it an Active B12 test, with a range that starts from about 35 pmol/L?
Can you post the 'normal' range they gave?
It was an active B12 with the range that started at 35 pmol/L it was done with MediCheck
I don't know what measure your doctor took but my B12 reading 4 years ago was 211 and I had nerve damage and muscle wasting in my legs by then. I took a shot every week for about one year, then every other week for about 6 months, then every month for another 6 months. Now I take the pill every day. My reading now is about 400 and I'm much better than I was but still not 100%.
The levels are a guide. Many research states its too low to begin with. YOU know how u feel, your symptoms.
As such, you would need higher doses. The good docs know that they need to get you in a mid-high range since lower range even if it is normal can have you ill.
Secondly, you need to find out why your body leaches it. I'll tell you what I've noticed, research and others. Food allergies, medication and get this menstrual cycle leeches everything.
Some days have to inject every day, sometimes twice when it is menstrual cycle...doc thinks heavy bleeding leeches it out...
