B12 results back

I did a online blood test and got back the result of 560. Not deficient at all. The last few weeks I have been eating more B12 foods - could that skew my result? I haven’t done the supplements, so I didn’t think just food would affect the results. Should I do the more intensive MMA test? I guess I want to think this is my problem, but maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree now.

If you had an absorption problem what you eat wouldn't make much difference (unless it was large amounts of nigh-on raw liver that had been treated to ensure it had intrinsic factor with it).

If you had a dietary deficiency and then started to correct that then it would bring your levels up. However, as the body has a limited capacity to absorb B12 from a single meal it would probably be relatively slow way of restoring levels ... unless you are eating to absorption capacity several times a day.

I wouldn’t think eating more b12 over say a weeks time would bring it up to a level that high, don’t you think? I mean severely deficient is under 180, right?

agreed - which would imply you don't have low levels of B12.

Back to the drawing board I guess. I’ve thought about Fibromyalgia and now I’m leaning towards that again

It just really seems with my symptoms and how they have gotten worse that this is what I have.
