Active B12 Private Testing in US

Looking for a way to get an active B12 / holoTC test done privately, as I don't have health insurance at the moment. I'm in the US, and every private site I've checked so far only has serum B12—maybe Homocysteine, MMA, or transcobalamin if you're lucky.

Has anyone been able to get this done privately in the US?

Thank you

transcobolamin is the same as holoT

Have amended the title of your post to include US

Really?

I thought that transcobalamin (TC) was the total amount of transport protein, and holotranscobalamin (holoTC) was a measure of TC that actually has B12 attached to it.

Are there any sources you would recommend for me to read up to help me understand the distinction (or lack thereof) more clearly?

you are right about the proteins - just that the names on test name doesn't match with the underlying science and holoTranscobalamin gets shortened to Transcobalamin.

Interesting, thank you for the info!

I'll take another look at the transcobalamin tests I found.
