Yes and did have headaches every time too. That has improved recently and nothe every time as long as I don't do anything. I've assumed it's your body overwhelmed with b12 and healing. So as your body so busy you can't do much?? I'm usually okay until 7-8 hours after it. I think that's when it peaks in your bloodstream. 2 days later can feel benefit but have to be careful what u do.

I am the same. No idea why. 24/48hrs after every jab. When your doing every other day you get no rest from it

That's why after weeks and weeks started on weekly to know what's what.

I only had this after a couple of my loading doses. I don’t have this any more (12 months post diagnosis).

People react differently to cyano, hydroxo... what are you injecting?

Both actually. Hydro from GP and I bring back Cyano from Germany when I go. I always buy from a chemist there.

I would try not mixing them for some weeks/months, to figure out if you tolerate one better than the other. Good luck!

Sort of feels like a hangover, doesn’t it.

When you get B12, after you’ve become deficient, the metabolism is the cells in your body cranks into high gear to process off all the molecules that have been building up from the deficiency. The other B vitamins that support B12 get used up fairly quickly and so you feel like crap.

Alcohol destroys the other B vitamins so you feel a hangover until you can build your B vitamins back up.

Is this a fact ?

Edit: So does that mean taking a B Complex should help ?

Even the Admins on this site say injecting B12 doesn’t affect or use up other vitamins (because I have asked that question on here).

If you are keeping a logbook of your symptoms, you may see this pattern after each injection. Unfortunately each person has different symptoms so calling it a “fact” may not be appropriate to all cases.

I take a daily multivitamin for the minerals and metals. Potassium gets used up and Admins have recommended eating bananas for the potassium. I get constipated from banana and multivitamins work fine for me.

It took a while using the logbook to figure out I was also having gluten and dairy issues and get those eliminated from my diet.

I also take 4.8 mg of folic acid daily to support getting rid of homocysteine and trying to effect repair of my neurological damage. I spread 6x 800 mcg OTC folic acid tablets out through the day.

I take 500 mg of TMG for the same reason.

Thanks

Thanks for that explanation. Im wondering if it means I need more frequent doses.

That is usually the case. But it takes a while to build up the evidence your GP needs to be comfortable prescribing more frequent injections.

In the mean time, you can add sublinguals if they work for you.

I’ve been SI with Hydroxocobalamin for over 3 years. I inject every 2 weeks and this still happens to me.

On the day I inject (I normally inject in the morning/afternoon) and the next day I feel fatigued, I don’t know why. So for about 2 days I feel that and have to sleep longer for those 2 days, but still feel the fatigue.

Thank you. Good to know Im not alone.

I think it could be other vitamins/minerals as I don’t take anything apart from Folic Acid and Vitamin D so perhaps a broad spectrum multivitamin and a B Complex might do some good.

I’ll introduce them or at least one of the above after my blood test which is due and see if it helps.

I m not sure of my Ferritin levels either....on the last blood test last year it wasn’t so high, more closer to the lower end of the range.

I usually try one thing at a time as more than one you don’t know which one has had what effect.

Hope you get to the bottom of your problem.

👍

I’m caught a cold this year over the New Years break and just want to sleep all the time again.

It is important however to keep a regular schedule and get up and move muscles with gentle exercises to stimulate neurological repair.

I find once I’m up. It’s the getting up that is so hard.
