Is it trues the longer the deficiency longer it takes to heal...one of my frnd told me today (eg if I’m deficient for 7yrs approximately,it will take me 7yrs approximately to reach where I was) is that true?

I don’t think any one can guarantee full recovery. It is slow and takes a long time.
I used a logbook of my symptoms and my own daily assessments (score 1 to 5) to figure out what was going on in my body and what medications were working and what wasn’t.
As things improved, some symptoms disappeared and others appeared. The ones that disappeared were from the deficiency and the new ones were from nerve repair. These new ones are very confusing and counterintuitive but they always repeated after each injection and followed a pattern or sequence. Once I recognized these new ones as “good “, my stress and worry dropped because I could anticipate them and knew that they were from nerve repair. The severity of these good symptoms also diminished as things became more stable.
I also had new symptoms that were digestive but looked a lot like my B12D symptoms and recording food items in my logbook helped sort out a new gluten and dairy intolerance. Once I eliminated gluten and dairy from my diet, then I felt a lot better and really started progressing.
I used the logbook of symptoms to get 2 different GPs (first in the UK and then in the USA) to increase my B12 to ( monthly hydroxo in the UK and then weekly cyano in the USA).
As far as I know there are no hard and fast rules concerning expected speed of recovery. It’s entirely individual to each person.
Most likely... And that's with top level B12 and supporting supplements all the time for healing.
Hi
My b12d was caused by being a vegetarian/vegan and my doctor prescribing omaprezole for over 6 years. I had b12d symptoms for several years before diagnosis and I have been diagnosed for over four years. Most of my symptoms have now ceased and the only time I get any symptoms is when I have my 8 weekly injection which causes a week of symptoms which are like the start of my previous signature symptoms but it goes no further.
Am I cured after such a long time of b12d? Who knows! But I am much better.
My list of symptoms is very very long. This is a site for PA the symptoms of which, although extremely serious, seem quite consistent across the contributors on here and, I believe, is a permanent condition which will require life long treatment (I’m no expert on the condition but that is what I’ve concluded from reading on the site) but b12d can be resolved with treatment but its symptoms are verging on the infinite.
My experience is that doctors understand PA reasonably well but they certainly have no idea about b12d and one has to be very careful when talking with them as, in my experience, they listen to the symptoms and want to take one down a range of medical paths including mental illness - one of my recurring symptoms was auditory hallucinations which appears to be a very rare symptom.
