Blood ranges differ from lab to lab. Depends on which area your in. When you have your test. Go back and ask for a printout of your results. B12 levels vary by person what might be OK for Peter Wright might not be OK for joy bloggs.
Yes as Buster says get a print out of results. you will find the range deemed normal in brackets.
Do make a list if your symptoms. Get your folate checked too before any supplementing of anything. Are they also doing a test for antibodies. Intrinsic or parietal cell? I had all these done before b12 treatment. Some people are in range but need treatment because of symptoms. The serum test only measures what's in your blood not what % is active. Some people get a private active test done for a baseline.

PA tests
Intrinsic Factor Antibody (IFA) test
labtestsonline.org/tests/in...
Parietal Cell Antibody (PCA) test
labtestsonline.org/tests/pa...
PCA is not recommended as a diagnostic test for PA in UK.
Both these tests can be unreliable.
It is still possible to have PA with a negative result in IFA or PCA test.
About 50% of people with PA test negative on IFA test.
About 10% of people with PA test negative on PCA test.

B12 books I found useful
"What You Need to Know About Pernicious Anaemia and B12 Deficiency" by Martyn Hooper
Martyn Hooper is the chair of PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society). Book does not show updated BNF info.
"Living with Pernicious Anaemia and Vitamin B12 Deficiency" by Martyn Hooper
Has several case studies.
"Could it Be B12?: An Epidemic of Misdiagnoses" by Sally Pacholok and JJ. Stuart (USA authors)
Very comprehensive with lots of case studies. There is also a paediatric version of this book "Could It Be B12? Paediatric Edition: What Every Parent Needs to Know".

in addition to the responses of others I would just like to add that there is no single measure for iron status - a range of tests that provide indicators of iron status including full blood count, ferritin, (the most common tests).
