I've had PA for many years and when first diagnosed a consultant asked me if I had any thyroid issues as both are autoimmune issues. I didn't at the time but have just had ultra sound which showed very large retrosternal thyroid nodule. Seeing specialist later in August but wondered if anyone on here has had both problems and, if so, what treatment they had. Have asked on Thyroid forum but no-one seems to know much there

I have a B12 deficiency and Hashimotos (autoimmune thyroid disease), I haven’t been able to get a scan of my thyroid yet (next step as my neck is swollen in that area, and it is sore, affects my voice etc)
I will try and help as best as I can. I’m surprised that no one was able to help you on the ThyroidUK forum as they are normally pretty good.
I unfortunately don’t have the nodules but I do have like I said Hashi’s, Addisons and B12d, therefore I understand a little about having more than one autoimmune disease, I know there’s a link and overlap in symptoms between the three too. x
How are your thyroid hormone levels? The folks on Thyroid UK are generally pretty good at helping you to understand thyroid hormone levels as there is a difference between what the labs call "normal" and what our body actually needs for optimal levels. Unfortunately, even most thyroid "experts" don't seem to understand that.
I have found a few good online resources regarding thyroid issues. My new favorite is stopthethyroidmadness.com/
I have both PA and Hashi's but no nodules. Found about the Hashi's over a year ago and started on low dose naltrexone (LDN) and gluten free diet and managed to bring down my TPO antibodies significantly just by doing that but am still symptomatic. Was just diagnosed with PA a couple of months ago. From what I have been told, the symptoms from thyroid issues and PA overlap greatly so it can be difficult to know which health issue to attribute which symptoms to.
Hope you find the answers and relief that you need!
I have hypothyroidism and b12 deficieny both I believe are a consequence of having Vitiligo......another autoimmune disease with strong links to the two other conditions. So on b12 injections and a ndt.
you can watch videos on youtube and ATA, I am glad they are sending you to a specialist it can be scary when you don't have all the answers to something you may have. You seem like a real trooper. Please keep us informed, I had a 20 yr misdiagnosed, hyperparathyroidism that caused so much destruction, pain misery, and surgeries, when they removed the parathyroids they also removed a nodule on my thyroid so glad that is all behind me Good luck
