Hi has anyone got a good link for a video instruction for self injecting B12?

Preferably sub cut

I’ve looked at a few on YouTube and they aren’t particularly good

Thank you

Subcutaneous will be same as injecting insulin but intermuscular in the thigh is better if you don’t have needle phobia.

There’s a few decent videos on YouTube on “self injecting B12 into the thigh”.

Is not that painful.

Being new to all of this, may I ask why IM in the thigh would be better than sc in the abdominal area? Thank you!

Intermuscular is absorbed faster than subcutaneous but I don’t think it makes a difference which way you decide, just personal preference.

Most people do intermuscular with B12 as the thigh muscle is a large area and easily reached when self injecting but if you have needle phobia or any other reason you can inject sc, I don’t think it makes a difference.

As far as I can find out there's not been any research into the pharmacokinetics of sub-cut B12. If it were absorbed quicker when administered IM then that would be an argument in favour of SC.

But, as you say, it's very unlikely to make any significant difference.

I find so many conflicting answers on google and I know that they sometimes hide search results on REAL health info. Was looking for studies but cannot seem to find much out there.

Not what you're looking for?
