I only know about Intra-muscular(I.M.) injections. I use a 25g x1inch Needle to inject into my thigh. If you inject sub-curaneously (sub-cut) , the needle will be much shorter . Also if you use an ampoule , I find it good to use a longer , thicker needle (say 21G x1 1/2 inch) to withdraw the B12 fluid from the ampoule , because you will make the needle blunt by touching the sides or bottom of the ampoule . And blunt will mean painful injection .

Thank you wedge wood.I have been using the drawing up needle size to inject and think the smaller size will be more comfortable.

I also use orange 1" needle, it seems to work just fine for IM injection. Best of luck.

A 1” needle will be too short for many people. It depends on how deep the subcutaneous fat layer is.
