Back from gp. May well have not bothered. Not been refered to anyone as yet. He saw the medicheck results. Told me my last bloods were OK with NHS. {over 18mths ago} he gave me 10mg amytriptaline, 50mcgs 3 time a day of b12 tabs. Little pale pinky ones. So it looks like si for me. Can't do any other sick of not being helped and made to feel like I am going mad. I wish I had busted legs and arms then they could actually see what's wrong.!... I would not treat anyone inhumane.... Why are people left to suffer....? Are we still in the 13th century?

Unfortunately yes we are!

Until dr's are better educated in B12D, most of us will be left to feel like hypocondriacs.

You have put it in a nutshell Richie ! One big consolation though is —- THIS MARVELLOUS FORUM ! Think what it must have been like for folk like us before Martyn Hooper founded PAS !

I remember what it was like for me wedgewood before I found PAS, which then led me here to your great advise & that of others. 👍

Hi,

So sorry to read that your GP was not very helpful.

"50mcgs 3 time a day of b12 tabs"

In UK, this strength of B12 tablet is prescribed for dietary B12 deficiency.

Even if B12 deficiency is due to diet , if neurological symptoms are present UK guidelines indicate that injections should be prescribed.

I wondered if PAS could offer any info/support?
