I highly recommend the Auto-Injector 90, by UnionMedico, Denmark, for intramuscular injection of B12. I use BD 3ml syringe with both 1" and 1 1/2" 25 gauge needle. Using this device truly eliminated the fear of jabbing myself. You should plan to do a bit of practice with an orange, or something else, to get the hang of things, and then go for it. $115 delivered to the U.S.
By coincidence earlier today i’d asked about this self-injecting device, so thanks for these little videos. Not till I saw these did I realise that it only did the ‘stabbing’ of the needle syringe, and not the injecting too! Probably very silly of me as i’m used to using daily insulin pens...think I had hoped the end result would be similar as i’m a real whimp...ok if others do it! Might have to do a compromise and let husband do it, out of sight, knowing that he can’t be quite so aggressive as he sometimes is with insulin pen on bum ( after 4 years I built up courage to do it in my tum).
I understand. Yes, I was hoping it was an all-in-one device, but the patient still has to push the B12. It still helped with the biggest obstacle I had, and that was inserting the needle.
Yes.. I’m a whimp on all stages when it comes to syringes and needles...but it sounds like i’d trust hubby to do it( without coming out the other side!).
Another tip is to hold the skin taute when you quickly put the needle through the skin - you'll feel it a lot less You can then give the injection slowly, or at the speed you prefer, for comfort.
