I use a 25 gauge by 1 inch length. I also use the union medico injector device made in Denmark. It has helped to greatly reduce the anxiety and pain of self-injecting.

Needle size
Useful to know
Hi I just received my injector device this morning and it came with a few syringes and needles and mediswabs.
Can I ask is there anything else I need like a draw up needle and I assume now I will have to buy the needles and syringes from unionmedico now to ensure they fit the device? Sorry to be a pain but these are questions I’ve only just thought of now I’m in the dark trying to go through the correct processes so as always appreciate any help and advice.many thanks x
I bought a box of 100 BD syringes with 1 x 25 gauge and a box of 100 BD syringes 5/8 x 25 gauge. A box costs about $25 USD. I use the 5/8 for drawing up and 1 inch for injection.
Thank you for thats it’s so helpful x
See this youtube on auto injector use.
I don't use the supplies that come with the auto injector.
I didn’t buy that type of autoinjector I bought a silver one from them and ordered the relevant needles and syringes from them at the same time the sizes I needed had been recommended on my autoinjector post and it all cost an eye watering 220 euros.
Because I only got ten and 15 of each item I’ve now contacted them and asked do I have to use your needles with your product injecter but no reply as yet.because I’m so scared of the needles I’ve not had a “play” with the system yet before using this is a nightmare for me if I’m honest.thank you again for your help I much appreciate it.x
The woman on the YouTube isn't doing B12, so ignore some of the video advice. Just observe how the injector operates.
It’s funny because I had looked at that video earlier this morning there’s not a lot of info on YouTube about using this particular auto injection method or more than likely ive just not found it yet lol.
Hi I’ve just looked through website again and they’ve actually given me 10 of each draw up needles ,injection needles and swabs so I’m guessing that I draw up using one needle in the syringe then swop needles and inject.thanks so much for your patience I think it’s sinking in a bit better now so all I really need is to do a test run on the device now ( when I’m feeling braver lol) thanks so much.
Interested in the debate about needle size - I have felt the most dreadful pain with much needed b12 injections until a new nurse injected me with no pain at all. She said she was using a much thinner needle brought from her previous job. She only has two! My practice only orders the thicker needle.... can I make a fuss?
Did she say what size needle?
At my surgery they use blue ones I think the gauge is 23 for IM. They use the same fir children! Just ask her. They are ordering ones suitable for trying Sc for me to try . As this new nurse is used to working with that size needle I'm sure its possible. If you dony ask you dont get
