Hi

Recently had some bloods done through medichecks, I have b12 absorption problem confirmed by doctor a few years ago but not confirmed pa as IF was ok. I generally feel much better than I used to, have 8 weekly jabs due to neuro symptoms but sometimes struggle a bit with excessive tiredness, itchy skin and finding it hard to lose the weight I gained before starting my jabs other symptoms often creep back before my next jab. Not sure if I just need more frequent b12 or something else any advice appreciated, I had the bloods done just o check my thyroid but they did these at the same time. Bloods look ok to me maybe need to take some otc iron supplements? I have been taking folic acid daily but have stopped this about a week before this test.

Ferritin 34.6 range 13-150

Folate 13 range range >3.9

Inflammation CRP-hs 4.73 range <5

Active B12 above range

It sounds as if you're just one of us that need more regular injections. Try asking the doc. Then try pleading. Then try DIY. Plenty of advise on here about injecting yourself. They let the Germans do it, why not us?

Thanks fbirder, I know it's silly but I don't like the idea of self injecting although I will if I have to. Just bought some sublinguals as a few people on here have found them helpful so we'll see if that can top me up enough!

SI is much easier than the thought of it suggests.

There are lots of people - myself included - who really didn't like the idea but now prefer to do their own jabs because you can do what suits you best. And you feel a lot better for it too!
