I have MTHFR. As mentioned only methycobalamin after 15 injections of 500 mcg in a month is giving little bit of improvement. I tried Hydroxocobalamin but it seems to not work for me. Is there a way to make hydroxocobalamin work. Do i need to do any specific tests on MTHFR. I have iron, potassium, frolic acid in normal range. I don’t have anemia but the neurological damage is done due to miss diagnosis. I am afraid of taking too many injections every alternate day. Please advise

Cynacobalamin and hydroxocobalamin doesn’t work
There is no known reason why hydroxocobalamin should not word as well as, if not better than, methylcobalamin. So there's no known method whereby hydroxocobalamin could be made to work like methylcobalamin.
Everybody has MTHFR it is a protein essential for life (and it it the name of the gene that codes for that protein). Almost everybody has one or more mutations in the MTHFR gene. Only one set of mutations (homozygous for C677T - carried by me and 9% of the rest of the population) has been shown to possibly have any effect on health - and that only in some females.
Even having that mutation, it cannot possibly make hydroxocobalamin not work because it is cob(I)alamin that is methylated to make methylcobalamin in the cell. And both methylcobalamin and hydroxocobalamin can make cob(I)alamin. Taking methylcobalamin cannot possibly negate any effects of any MTHFR mutation - taking methylfolate can.
If hydroxocobalamin doesn't work then you would have had symptoms from birth because most of the B12 in food is hydroxocobalamin.
Thulasi1. Just a quick comment...B12 injections (of whatever forms) do not work immediately (like, for instance , paracetamol) and for some it can take many months before benefits are felt from injections (especially if the deficiency has been present for some time).
So...no B12 of any form will work immediately...the repair process from B12 deficiency can be very long (years, for some), especially if the deficiency has been present for some time.
So...hydroxocobalamin may well be effective, given appropriate repair time...though this is difficult to judge because it differs for each individual.
About frequency...in the UK the frequency of injections (hydroxocobalamin) for those with neurolgical symptoms is 1mg every other day until no further improvement improvement...for some, this treatment regime needs to continue for many months (or even indefinitely). B12 is safe, non-toxic, not addictive...so
It's safe to inject vitamin B12 every other day (1mg dose is standard in the U.K.)...and some need to inject every day to get and stay in well.
Also worth noting that neurological symptoms / damage can have many other causes so if you haven't already done so, worth seeing a neurologist so that other potential causes can be ruled out (standard practice here in the U.K. - or it should be 😉).

Did you get your HOMOCYSTEINE checked to see if it is high? It is a major problem in atherosclerosis. Can be lowered in 6 weeks with B6 @ 200 mg. and zinc. Need to find out about that.
