I’m not a doctor but my experience is that I get a soft poo about 6 hours after my injection. I think it is caused by metabolism kicking into high gear when the body gets B12 and working off a backlog of chemicals that have built up due to deficiency.

Most metabolic byproducts are CO2 and water and the water overwhelms the gut and kidneys so I pee a lot and have soft stools.

I treat the severity of the reaction as a measure of how deficient my B12 was before the injection. Unfortunately doctors don’t recognize this as a reason to give more frequent injections.

Once your B12 levels stabilize and are continually sufficient so that you don’t go into a deficient state, this symptom goes away.

Also look at new gluten and dairy intolerance once you start on injections.

Are you supplementing with folic acid and a daily multivitamin?

I had that too but I put it down to the neurological symptoms of me b12 defiency. It does improve and I don't think anything to worry about. Quick tran site. Often when defient you csn get constipated so will settle. I mentioned it to the doctor . They weren't interested .

I have had that issue. Almost kind of nauseous. Just the thought of certain foods make me feel yucky. It comes and goes though. I was eating very healthy before the shots and now I don’t want certain things. Hang in there, it’s a process for sure.

Have you tried stopping all gluten ( wheat, rye, barley)? Oats and rice are not gluten but can easily be contaminated.

If I get gluten(accidentally), i feel terrible and get a soft stool about 6 to 12 hours after I eat it. I get a second bout of severe brain fog 24 hours later. The symptoms go away after 72 hours.

I get a similar reaction to dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter) but a lot more very smelly wind as well.

hi there pvanderaa, can I ask If you have celiac disease? coz im already starting to think I have it... still having the yellowish poo. I have been on gluten free diet for 4 days now, I feel and see the improvements but I'm just concerned about my stool, and wondering when I should expect to have "normal" poo again. Thank you in advance.
