Hallucination due to B12 deficiency

Does anyone suffer from this?

I have a feeling that I am suffering from it even though I inject B12 regulary.

My problem is smelling things which aren't there and getting bitter tastes even when I drink some juice or have nothing in my mouth.

I don't know what to do with it as my senses seem to be all messed up.

Think it's fairly common to experience what I call 'smellucinations' with B12 def. Seems to be mainly burnt toast! Some people say this can also be a precursor to a migraine attack.

I seem to have a constant metallic taste in my mouth, and most foods taste very salty. I'm not even able to enjoy chocolate anymore! :-(

Just before I was diagnosed I used to have that thing where people see things on the verge of sleep – I always saw spiders falling towards me. It went away completely when I started having my B12 topped up. Thinking back some years I had a few occasions in flats when I could regularly smell smoke but there seemed to be no possible source for it. Again that hasn't happened since I've been having injections.

I do seem to imagine smells and have often seem movement of small insects that don't seem to be real. I'm hoping these become less frequent now I've had the 6 starter injections.

It would be interesting to know if it disappears for you. I am having regular injections but I have come to the point of not knowing what is a real smell and what isn't. I'll have to ask someone. :(

Yes! Following my 4th (out of 5) injection, I kept smelling a really disgusting smell... It was like stale ale and I could smell it everywhere but only for a couple of minutes then it would disappear. I have been feeling so paranoid that it's me or my partner (neither of us drink very much at all), so reading this has really put my mind at rest. Thank you :)
