Now I'm on a 3 monthly cycle to get vitamin B12 injections, however I honestly don't feel these are lasting long enough, so I had to have an operation and the surgeon asked when I was due to get 'topped' up, and it was due the following week, before the operation I had my bloods taken so I presume that they could see that I was due for another one? So I then went down a couple of weeks later after recovering from surgery and questioned the nurse regarding my conversation at the hospital, now she said bluntly 3 monthly is fine, so I asked her to get into my file from the hospital to see what was put down, surprisingly she couldn't get the blood test up, now ended up with a tingling tongue and constant high pitch whistling in both ears, just can't believe having these problems are swept away, and I thought that patient records are interlinked, or am I being fobbed off, thanks.

If you wish you can apply in writing (letter or email ) for copies of all your records free of charge.
Thanks for your reply, I feel I shouldn't have to 'chase' up my blood test results to confirm my doubts, she had all the notes regarding the operation on the screen in front of her, but I then feel I'm having to do somebodies job to which they are paid for, I don't want to rock the boat nor do I really want to become a detective trying to sort this out, if anyone could tell me wether my blood tests results done at the hospital are kept on the doctors files then I know I'm being told a pack of lies and the nurse is ignoring my request, the NHS is overloaded with cuts and I feel really uncomfortable trying to access these files, I appreciate you getting back to me with your advice and I hope I haven't come across to cheeky to you, but many thanks again for your reply, thank you.
It's the only way I found out my conditions and then asked doctors for tests which led to life saving diagnosis and treatment.
Everyone in the UK has a right to copies of any information held.
Since new rules 25 May 2018 this is free and you cannot be charged for copies.
You just phone hospital and find out the person in Medical Records who is dealing with these requests and write or email. It could be Legal Services Department or Medical Records Department.
You can also write / email Practice Manager at GPs. Or you can ask Receptionist to print off your blood results if that's all you want.
Hi Cb1963 If your surgery involved nitrous oxide perhaps you could ask your nurse to check the following links

Yep I mentioned this as I'm a long term surgical patient at the hospital and have had numerous general anaesthetics, and also life time omeprazole tablets, which cause absorbtion issues, but it has fallen on deaf ears, I honestly reckon there must be thousands of folk who are walking zombies because doctors or the practices are not following up patients who are on certain medications that are well known to cause B12 symptoms, pretty shocking considering the damaging effects of this condition, thanks for your swift reply.
