Hi All

I have started to develop a ‘zinging’ sensation like low level pins and needles on my cheeks, around my mouth, neck, arms hand and the back of my legs.

It tends to come and go and is of ten just around my face.

Hi,

I had similar symptoms, even had tingling in my teeth. Tingling around my mouth is one of the first symptoms to return after an injection. I need a lot of B12, far more than amount recommended in UK guidelines to keep symptoms at bay.

Are you getting adequate treatment from doctor?

Thank you for your response. I get 12 weekly injections- my doctor won’t budge on more. I believe my problem was caused by being a vegetarian/vegan and my doctor prescribing omaprezole on six monthly repeat prescriptions which went on for over six years. I don’t really know whether I can or cannot absorb b12. I am using an oral spray and take tablets throughout the day and my symptoms have improved significantly over the four years since my deficiency was detected. But the zinging has started over the last few months and has been getting worse although it is a tolerable symptom. I just wish I knew whether I was near the end of the road or whether there is no end.

But, I have to say, reading sufferers like yourself, makes me realise that I have little to complain about in comparison.

I have a good surgery, I have my injections every 8 weeks, think it because my old GP injected every 8 weeks, when I started with neuro problems pins and needles, etc, he put me on pregabalin started me on a low dose then slowly went up to 200mg daily, this stopped it, but I notice when I am due for my B12 injection I start with the symptons (usually just a week before). As my GP says (also my previous GP as well), we don't know the extend of the damage PA has done until signs appear.
