hi all, as per previous posts symptoms have slowly slowly improved. you will also notice i’ve been using b complex only so no injections (i’ve noticed people have had a more ‘instant’ relief with injections). but i’m still feeling quite fatigued, especially my eyes which are often red and dark circles around. any idea how long i can expect this to take to relieve or should i go back to doctors? cheers

From the different experiences that I have read from many forum members it’s clear that there is no hard and fast rule regarding recovery rate. Each person starts in a different place with their deficiency, their treatment regime often differs and their recovery time is individual.
I certainly didn’t have any instant relief with the initial injection regime provided by my GP.
It took 3 months for my fatigue to go away after I was done with B12 loading dosage of 10 injections (1500 mcg). RBCs are made every 90 days approx so it takes time for new to be made and carry oxygen effectively.
The amount of B12 in a B-Complex is relatively low and it doesn't have the other vitamins and minerals required to make the B12 work. You shouldn't take more than one a day because it is then likely to supply too much of the other B vitamins which can cause a problem.
You could see if your symptoms improve more quickly if you take a B12 only tablet and a broad spectrum multivitamin and mineral supplement with it.
hi thanks for the reply. I may order some high dose b12 tablets, or maybe a nasal spray and see if I improve. ive been takin a B-complex per day for the past 5 months or so i'd say with very very slow improvement.
