B12 patches

I’ll start a new thread with this as you’ve all been so helpful on my initial thread that it’s got very long.

In desperation I researched B12 patches (and a friend in a similar position did the same with the sublingual drops). I found that for the majority of people they don’t work. I went ahead and bought some - the strongest I could find that didn’t have folic acid because, although mine is low, I’ve read that taking that with B12 can hinder absorption. (Any advice on that would be much appreciated. )

I guess I’m a lucky bunny. I got 48 hours real relief out of the two that I’ve used. The morning after I put one on it felt like someone had pulled a net curtain back from my foggy brain. I actually cried with relief.. The injections have never been that dramatic. They ARE dearer than the shots - I paid £15 for six, plus postage. You are supposed to use one a week, left on for 24 hours. I know I’ll have to self inject eventually when I get my tests sorted but these are a brilliant standby - even if only to use before a special day out or a day you know is going to be extra busy.

My friend who used the subligual in the final week of her 12 weeks because her GP wouldn’t inject early and she was too tired to do her job, found about the same amount of relief as the patches.

I’m sad these might not suit everyone but these are what I used and it may be worth a try. . Pure Science Supplements, Methylcobalamin 5000mcg. Www.puresciencesupplements.com. Amazon do them a bit cheaper .

It’s just another mystery surrounding B12 deficiency. I have diagnosed P.A. and I used to cover myself with those patches and use the spray and they didn’t help one iota. It wasn’t that they didn’t suit me, they just had no effect at all , and I really persevered in my desperation . And yes they are really expensive . Thank goodness for B12 ampoules . So much cheaper , and really effective . But good luck if they work for you . 👍
