Wondering if someone can help me. I keep reading on various fb forums that your b12 level needs to be over 1000 to benefit from neurological symptoms . I’ve looked for studies that state that research. Does anyone know of a link that talks about this ?
Thanks

There is none. You will find it mentioned in a certain book (that some FaceBook groups treat as their bible) but, as far as I can see, there is no evidence to back it up. You will also find it on a lot of websites that think The Daily Mail is a good source of scientific information. They will tell you that Professor David Smith of Oxford said that " For brain and nervous system health and prevention of disease in older adults, serum B12 levels should be maintained near or above 1,000 pg/ml."
David Smith told me that he never said that.
Please ignore those FaceBook groups. Many of them exist only to spread scare stories between members.
I've not read that. But as every other day Injections are advised until no further improvement with neurological problems from b12 defiency the levels are kept up, for that 'window' of repair. Also to get it to cellular level I understand from previews posts. I don't think any measurement is known.
