I have just ordered B12 ampules and syringes from a company called vitaminb12online.com. I researched them as much as I could and they seem legitimate. Has anyone else used this site and it’s products at all? Would really appreciate any feedback that could be given, thank you

Why are you buying when your GP provide for free ?

I’m having to do the same as many other people with PA and top up what my GP will offer for “free” as they will not give me B12 injections more regularly than every 8wks and the gap is too long inbetween and my symptoms become so difficult to manage that I am having to source the B12 myself to try supplement and manage how unwell it makes me feel. I certainly wouldn’t be buying more If what I was offered for “free” was enough! I have shown research evidence to the G.P. And challenged NICE guidelines with said evidence and they won’t budge. Sadly I’m not alone in this exprience.

Members on this forum usually get their ampoules for self injection from German online pharmacies bodfeld.de , versandapo.de ( they are out of stock at the moment ) or from Amazon.de who is also supplied by German pharmacies , some of which ship to U.K. You may need a translation facility for the German pharmacies . You can get Amazon.de in English

Rotexmedica B12 depot is what to look for if you want the same type of B12 that the NHS uses , namely Hydroxocobalamin .

Hello yes I use them works out much cheaper if you buy in bulk. Their customer service is good too. It's great to have the whole kit instead of ordering everything separate and waiting for it all to arrive.

I have PA - plus many other links to illness but I know that injecting multiple times does not increase your B12 levels because you will pee it out - you have to top your folate iron , minerals etc up - I feel your doing more harm than good - I’m sorry to say this but it’s sad that you don’t see this - it’s well known that vials are filled with crap - hence side effects - just like good bad quality heroin

If it was not already evident from many many posts and replies here, it can now also be supported by recent evidence. New research shows that there is a clear irrefutable difference between those that are coping well on frequency prescribed by NHS, and those that deteriorate on this frequency and need more. This means that the next stage of the research can proceed. Eventually, this will lead to better treatment for all of us. The Pernicious Anaemia Society has published a newsletter with more details. Worth joining, don't you think ?

You are right- other vitamins and minerals may well be needed in support. Commonly folate, iron, vitamin D, thyroid (full panel) levels worth checking. Not sure all vials are bad, or that all people have the same needs....

Frenchiebabe. For clarification...B12 injections do not cause harm. Those with neurolgical symptoms are treated with every other day injections - sometimes for many months, if not years. There are some here who need to inject every day to get and stay well. 1998cd can do no harm by injecting as frequently as needed to get and keep well.

Not sure where you get the idea that 'it's well known that [B12] vials are filled with crap'...that's not well known here, where people buy from reputable manufacturers / suppliers who have appropriate quality control and audit procedures in place.

The patient information leaflets provided with vitamin B12 Injections list potential side-effects. But...the side effects listed are exactly the same as the symptoms of B12 deficiency. Many who first start treatment report that symptoms get worse before they get better - and they often do. This is what's referred to as the repair effect...so repair effects are often mistaken for side effects.

As to likening B12 to good quality bad quality heroin...sorry but that's not relevant or helpful. Just feeds into the ridiculous and mistaken notion that B12 is addictive...which it most certainly isn't. Or a street drug used for a pick me up (fix) as per the cosmetic industry... though it shouldn't be!

So...I guess I'm with Cherylclaire on this...
