Just to let all you lovley people know armed with all the information provided from the members if this forum i presented my GP with nice guidlines on B12 deficiency and finally got my loading B12 injections started.

Thank ýou all fingers crossed it works.

Coeliac Disease

In UK, two first line tests are recommended. UK GPs sometimes forget to do second test Total IgA

1) tTG IgA

2) Total IgA

NICE guidelines Coeliac Disease (2015 version) recommend that anyone with unexplained b12, folate or iron deficiencies should be tested for Coeliac disease.

How many loading injections are you having? What B12 treatment will you have after loading injections are finished?

Recommended UK b12 treatment for those with B12 deficiency without neuro symptoms is...

6 B12 jabs over 2 weeks followed by a jab every 2 or 3 months

Recommended UK b12 treatment for those with B12 deficiency WITH neuro symptoms is...

A B12 loading jab every other day for as long as symptoms continue to get better ( could mean weeks even months of loading doses then a jab every 2 months.

It's vital that you get second pattern of treatment if in UK and you have neuro symptoms. Untreated or under treated B12 deficiency can lead to further deterioration.
