Hi all, I new to this so please bear with me 😁 I’m b12 deficiency but I’m in the early stages of menapause, went to Holland and Barrett but they said they were unsure on what to advice due to the B12, I can’t take normal hormonal tablets as I have a high risk of cancer due to family history, and recommendations on what herbal tablets would be greatly appreciated x

I cannot take HRT due to family history also, I take sage tablets and they do help me with the hot flushes and sweating. I took them for around three weeks before I noticed a difference.

For me B12 deficiency made the mood swings much more significant so they died down a lot after I managed to stabilise my B12 levels where they needed to be after after loading doses.
I personally found that hormones tended to make the mood swings worse ... and didn't help with hormonal migraines. I did end up taking progesterone at two points in the menopause where bleeds were abnormal - and found I needed to take much lower doses than prescribed otherwise I was just completely wiped out.
In didn't end up using any herbal supplements but I did find that mindfulness meditation helped with moods.
