Finally decided to use 3- monthly prescribed B12 vial I have (I also self inject weekly) but I don't know how to get into it! It's different from the kind usually given to me with no dot to indicate the weak spot. I gave up this time and used one from Rotexmedica.
How do I open this?: Finally decided to... - Pernicious Anaemi...
How do I open this?
How odd ! Never seen one like that .There must be a weak point on the neck somewhere . I think I would wrap one of those alcohol swabs around the ampoule, and use a pair of pliers . But be careful . Maybe best to throw it away, rather than hurt yourself . After all the Rotexmedica are really quite cheap . Best of luck what ever you do 🍀🍀🍀👍
The stuff I get from the NHS doesn't have the dot either. Just open it the same as the Rotexmedica ones but don't worry about the orientation.
I did try to open it and used a folded up tissue to protect my fingers! I'll try again when feeling braver. Maybe with a thick cloth.
I use one of these - sepha.com/deblistering/clic... Not cheap but worth it for the piece of mind.
I use the needle packet over the top and thumb and forefinger just snap it off. It is quite tough but it will break. Not had any accidents yet. X
I’ve used an ampule snapper device, can be purchased from a well know site that sells everything & anything. Start at £2 and go up to £15. Worked well so far!
