Just a query is a volvulus ,intestinal malabsorption and ileocolic resection all seperate conditions or a complication of the same as this is why i have pernisous anemia since age 3 but now 45 and believe all my mental health over the last 3yrs has got worse but b12 high vit d low and cholestural high on last bloods what other test can they do to prove symtems are due to pa im so breathless but thought anxiety but its got worse

Not sure that there is any way of seeing if the mental health problems are caused by B12 aside from seeing if B12 resolves the problem.

You could look at MMA and homocysteine tests to see what is going on in the cell but these are just products of two processes so may not tell the whole story, though they are the usual tests for a functional B12 deficiency.

Well insisted my daughter was tested for b12 and came back last week as 130 not sure wat range is but have checked now foe instinct factor and coeliac disease as i said id had ileocolic resection as a kid but cant remember and didnt know until i recieved notes so assumed must be due to chrones .I asked today for results but said that the nurse practicioner had to see her so im assuming she has pa as iv got this but i went mad as they still havent started injections and the nurse today just thought i was mad and didnt know wat that ment so now has app with nurse wednesday iv enen insisted on leaving the book on it .On another note my gp reffered me to gasterologist as i dont think its absorbing and shed some light on my operations and malabsorbtion issues as a child and put jabs in place monthly at least i hope xx
