How do you know that your stomach acid has increased ? There is no NHS test for this . “Heartburn” can be caused by low stomach acid , because the oesophageal sphincter fails to close fully if stomach acid is not high enough .It seems that you have Pernicious Anaemia as you are posting on this site . If so, you will definitely have low/no stomach acid ( Hypochlorhydria/

Achlorhydria )The NHS has no treatment for this . I have diagnosed PA , and had many symptoms , until I was able to get correct treatment ( self injections) My doctor wanted to treat me with antacids, which would have been really bad for me . ( she had absolutely no knowledge of P.A. ) I declined. The lack of stomach acid upsets the stomach flora . It was helped by a good probiotic . I hope that I haven’t bored or annoyed you . I mean well ! Best wishes.
