I just received my 2nd infusion of feraheme. How long does it take to feel the full benefits of it. And , how long does it last. I so lost hair before I was diagnosed with l low iron and wondering if it will grow back .
Thank for ant replies

Hi!
I didn't know you could get such things and am very grateful to you for your post as I have discovered I have to eat lots and lots of meat to get enough heme iron to keep my B12 working and I was wondering if there was any hope for me as my system gradually packs up!
This forum is technically for "Pernicious Anemia" which leads to a shortage of vitamin B12 and not specifically for iron anemia but, as I say, I'm very glad you have posted on here and hope you will be made welcome and get some answers.
I lost lots of hair due to B12 deficiency, complicated by other absorption issues, and when I got a good level of treatment it grew back OK.
In my experience we are all different and so it is hard to say how long any supplements last - in some bodies things last weeks, in others only hours - depending on how "broken" we are!
Calcium plays an important part in one's uptake and use of iron and so your calcium levels will make a difference and probably ought to be monitored.
Listen to your body and try to get more help if you feel your symptoms returning.
Be aware that you may have more issues other than the heme iron deficiency and I suggest that you ask to be tested for a range of vitamins at least, especially B12, B9 (folate) and Vitamin D as one problem is often linked to others.
Good luck with feeling better!
