I’m supposed to be taking my daughter to a concert sat night . It will be outdoor and in a park 😐. 10 mins from my home . she is so looking forward to it and i so want to enjoy it with her . It’s just that I have had a rubbish 3 weeks since my last injection didn’t seem to work as I don’t think it was given properly iv been weak and exhausted and depressed . I just happened to check with the surgery and they said I could have it early so got a lovely competent nurse on Thursday and it was definitely done correctly . I definitely think I couldn’t go to concert without at least some b12 in my system but iv had the numbness and weakness in my legs since Thursday . A bit scared that I won’t be up to standing and will have to let my daughter down . I hate how I cannot even do normal things anymore . I am going to get a taxi to the gate . After that I’m not sure I take it there will be a large crowd . Any advise . Iv rested all evening but can’t sleep with worry. Btw I still haven’t got over my fear of self injections. So I my own worst enemy for letting things get so bad due to bad practice at my surgery .

Hi Andy. So sorry to hear of your debilitating condition. Quite honestly , I don't know what to suggest. What age is your daughter? Is she old enough to understand your dilemma? It's awful when we have to let people down. I had that problem years ago when suffering from bad M.E. My family couldn't understand at all. It makes us feel even worse when we have to disappoint them. The thing is, we aren't doing it deliberately and it vexed us as much as them, only we bear the added burden of feeling guilty as well.

It's understandable that you are nervous of self injecting. Is there anyone else who could help you?

I am feeling like rubbish this week too. Came back from a short holiday and took a cold home with me. That certainly knocks us back too, when we get floored with other illnesses. So thankful for the patches which I am using every day until back on my feet.

Andy, I only wish there was more help I could give you. If you have the self injecting kit at home, maybe this is a good time to try it, and see if it boosts your strength a bit.

Wishing you all the very best and if you get to the concert, then hopefully you will be able to enjoy it with your daughter. Take care, and please don't be hard on yourself. You can't help having this illness. Please let us know how you get on though.

Hi Andy,

I had a similar worry about a standing concert (we could only get standing tickets) but I wasn’t going to miss out on seeing Queen! We got there early and stood right at the front so I could lean on the barrier, it really helped.

Hope it goes well for you.

P.s I haven’t plucked up the courage to self inject either as yet! I’m sure we’ll get there in the end. 👍
