High iron levels

So last week the dr suggested i have my annual MOT. Bloods for diabetes, thyroid and a couple of other things. All came back fine, except for my ferritin levels which are high, 271 instead of between 4-150. On closer examination, they were high last year at 194 which the doctor's didn't pick up on. Other than having PA, I'm in pretty good health, my blood count is excellent the Dr said, so they don't think there's any more sinister or serious reason for the increase. I've to go back next week for a further test for haemochromatosis. Anyone else experienced this?
