Hi, I’ve been having this pain along with all the other problems. I describe it as a spasm also like a hot poker on my spine. It comes and goes and can last 6 weeks. I go to Chiropracter for lower back problems. He has said on numerous occasions that the pain, just below my shoulder blades on the spine is pernicious anemia related. I found this strange. I’m male but the pain you describe is the same....I get the B12 injection ever 5-6 weeks. I have suffered this horrible disease over 8 years. It would take me a year to write down all the symptoms. Only yesterday I fell, my left leg sometimes forgets to lift and down I go. Tiredness, bad temper, short term memory loss, can’t get words out, pins and needles, gasping for oxygen, bone pain ribs, elbows, frustrated when talking to people, agitated, can’t remember who people are. The list could go on and on.... sometimes I feel I’ve had enough but suppose we are lucky the injection keeps us alive......Raymond

Thank you Mytartan. I'm still waiting for functional blood test results so not sure if I have b12 defficiency but have many of the symptoms. GPs think I'm fine as I was taking B complex and B12 spray when they tested me so results were high.

The spine joint pain and spasms are truly unpleasant but not sure mine is a burning sensation. It happens when I eat/drink calcium or vit c. So both may be depleting B12.....or magnesium. I've history of a magnesium deficiency.

All the other symptoms you've listed, i have.

Thanks again.

I have the feeling of a tight painful knot in both my mid and right upper back, at my bra line. Is this similar? I have had an Xray and had this 'looked at' by a specialist but nothing has been found that points to the cause of this specific pain which I have now had for over a year. Any information about what this might be and whether related to B12 deficiency would be much appreciated so can discuss this with my doctor again.

I have been SI every day since totally incapicitated with sciatica and now trying for every other day as I am up and about with no more pain down my leg- but symptoms start to come back in my foot and ankle so back to SI every day.

Hi Annemarie,

Yes this is where my pain is. I'm waiting for functional bt results. The waiting feels like forever and feel alone with this.

I'm spraying with b12 while waiting as banging heart was concerning. B12 has helped this. I'm so fatigued, I can't get up the stairs. I have to stop for a breather and have lots of soft tissue pain. Insomnia is challenging. So is doing my physio. Can only do one minute on the bike before I'm whacked, stop, then do another minute.

Pains are much worse in the mornings when I wake up. I'm ok for the first few seconds, then my back and hip muscles tighten causing muscle, tendon and joint pain.
