Dear always-helpful members of this community — I have yet another set of questions for you.
Four times in the past two months, with the most recent extending 6 days (last Monday through Saturday), I’ve had a tender upper-right abdomen just below the rib cage. It’s a consistent, constant pain each time, though on some days it’s more of a 3/10 than a 5/10; I can definitely function, but not entirely happily, and it hurts to sneeze and lie down.
A doctor referred me for an ultrasound, which came back normal (whew); my GP then referred me to a gastroenterologist, though since the pain has since gone away and I’m so tired (!!) of going to doctor’s appointments, I haven’t scheduled that visit yet.
By chance, I also discovered on Friday that I’ve lost some weight completely unintentionally (if anything, I’d expected to gain some, and was fine with that — have not changed diet at all despite burning considerably fewer calories), which momentarily freaked me out.
What’s the likelihood that this is just normal autoimmune atrophic gastritis stuff? Do any of you have any tips on how to handle AAG (besides eating fermented foods — check!) or any experience with any of the things I’m noticing (abdominal pains, fatigue after even light meals, sudden weight loss, etc.)?
