Have been having B12 injections for about one year, the last twice I have had cold sores on my lip and in my nose within 2 days of being injected. Does this affect anyone else in this way??

I have had fever blisters since i was a kid. they are painful and embarrassing, so i can definitely sympathize.

cant say the b12 injections are or are not causing yours but i have found taking lysine and zinc reduce the frequency and severity.

I’ve had many cold sores pop up over the last year since I started treating my B12 deficiency. I’m not sure that it is related to the timing of the injection for me. The herpes virus that causes them lives in your nerves and come out when you are stressed. I’d say this year has definitely been more stressful in general and for my nerves in particular. I’m currently on acyclovir daily to suppress and new cold sores. Perhaps you would like to talk to your doctor about that.
