Mouth Ulcers/Cold Sores

Does anybody get mouth ulcers (cold sores) with their B12D? I was low on b12 (159) for many years and got cold sores frequently. I've been supplementing for 3.5 months heavily now and just got some new ones in my lip area and cheek. The PAS website says they are common but havent seen them mentioned on here much. Does anybody else exerpeincd there? If so have they ever gone away?

I get geographic tongue and very occasionally cracking in the sides of my mouth when my B12 gets low. Usually from too much stress.

Interesting. I've had those too. I just got some more even after 3 months of supplementing. Wish I could be done with it!

Mouth ulcers can be a sign of low folate. Cold sores . Once you've had them your body carries the virus so when Low or run down you get them. The spots associated with b12 injections look like big white heads . They do not squeeze and are very sore. I get them around my hairline and neck mainly. Initially I did get them on my lips and face. Also a peeling dry nose? ?

I've been on injections for 10 months now and don't get nearly as many.

Just keep thrm clean and dry with what ever tour skin csn take. I make you my own solution with aromatherapy oils and vodka! And dab it on. Tried loads of stuff but for me this works the best.

I had cold sores on my lips, like every few weeks (or generally when stressed), for years. After my endoscopy (chronic gastritis) I was prescribed PPIs and sucralfate and the first weeks I had a new one almost every two days, it was awful. But: since my stomach healed, the sores have subsided. So this makes me think it's an issue of the stomach related part of B12D/PA. Hope this helps you and gives you hope!

Thank you so much for the reply! It really intrigues me. I took PPIs about 10 years ago and had a horrific reaction and my digested has been messed up ever since. I think I have little to no stomach acid now which causes me to have trouble with a lot of foods along with these mouth ulcers. I was hoping the b12 could possible help my stomach produce acid again but I'm losing hope with that. How are you doing now with your digestion? Did any improvement come from the b12 you think?
