there are 4 different types of cobalamin (B12) that you can use to supplement - cyano, hydroxo, methyl and adenosyl.

People respond differently to each type. Whilst some find methyl useful others find that it causes them problems.

cyano is the stablest form, adenosyl the least stable form.

Sorry but the answer to your question is that you will have to try and see which works best.

If you don't have a diagnosed absorption problem them please note this from the pinned posts

Gambit is right. I heard methyl was the best for neuro so I went out and paid $80 for a vial. Injected once and never again! I felt horrible for days. Switched to cyanocobalamin as that is what they use in Canada and it works for me. No side effects. You won't know until you try. Good luck on your journey:)

Once they ner the cell all forms of B12 are treated identically. The first thing that happens is the top ligand (methyl, cyano, hydroxo or adenosyl) is removed to form cobal(II)amin. This is then transported to where it is required and converted to either adenosylcobalamin or methylcobalamin.

Some people, myself included, have a bad reaction to injecting methylcobalamin. This may be due to problems with some gene, possibly COMT.

I do t get this reaction with sublingual methylcobalamin, which makes me believe that it is converted to something else (it's fairly unstable) or it's not absorbed. Personally, I think it's the latter as they did nothing at all to fix my symptoms.

I ended up injecting 10,000mcg per day and only then did the neuro symptoms lift. I read about doctors using up tpo 20,000mcg of hydroxo for neuro symptoms. I did that for some time and now I am back to injecting monthly.
