Hi All,

Is there any daily additional supplement that could be taken with 3 monthly b12 jab ?

A good diet beats any amount of supplements and provides benefits you can't get from a supplement.

hsph.harvard.edu/nutritions...

But supplement for anything you can/won't get via diet or if approaching deficiency/deficient. Everyone normally suggests folate, 400mcg - sensible for "standard american diet" or with absorption issues, not needed if you're eating lots of legumes/grains/leafy greens. Many won't (or can't) eat this way so a folate supplement makes sense in that case.

Hi,

If you have or had neurological symptoms , I would expect you to be on the treatment pattern for those with "neurological involvement" outlined in link below which is

a B12 loading injection every other day for as long as symptoms continue to improve then a maintenance B12 injection every 2 months.

cks.nice.org.uk/topics/anae...

How many loading injections did you get at the start of your treatment?

Examples of neurological symptoms associated with B12 deficiency can be found in lists below

Symptoms of B12 Deficiency (folate deficiency also mentioned)

Symptoms of Peripheral Neuropathy (damage to peripheral nerves)

Peripheral neuropathy can be associated with B12 deficiency and sometimes with folate deficiency.

Some UK forum members resort to treating themselves if NHS treatment is not enough.

Some get extra injections from private GPs or beauty salons, some try high dose oral B12 but this doesn't work for some people and some as a last resort turn to self injection.

I tried high dose oral B12 which for me was not effective although it did help a little bit.

I can post a lot more info that might be useful, just let me know if you'd like that.

SI in the intervening months. If you have PA, no B12 that you can take orally is likely to be effective 😢
