I recently had the above blood test to confirm my B12 status. The blood was taken at my local lab then forwarded to a larger lab. I found out that the first lab hadn't sent enough blood. I thought I would have to have more blood drawn but my local lab said it was OK as they had a reserve that they were able to send. But I'm now wondering whether the result was accurate as the sample wasn't sent quickly enough. Can anyone advise me?

I think it really depends on how the first lab stored the sample. I believe MMA has to be done in a short window of time, but if the sample was stored in a way that stopped any metabolic changes then using the first sample may not have been a problem.
