I have just had these results through and my Doctor wishes to reduce my Thyroxine from 100mg to 75 I refused because I feel worse each time they reduce me back to 75microgram, Please advise
the results were
serum TSH level 0.1mu/L (0.3 - 5.5)
Serum free T3 5.8 pmo/L ( 0.- 7pmo/L)
Serum free T4 level 28pmo/L ( 11.5 - 22.7pmo/L

Without even getting into splitting tablets, you can graduate doses much more finely than a 25% cut! For example, 6 days of 100 and one of 75, 5 of 100 and two of 75, etc.
How long between taking your last levothyroxine tablet and having blood drawn for this test?
I did fast and got my blood taken early morning ,will try again to graduate doses ,I tried it a few months ago I started getting continuous UTI and I am now on a profilactric (not sure I have spelled it correctly) to try and keep UTI under control.
Am sure you know that with Hashi's you can swing from Hypo to Hyper. Try to keep the dose where you feel well. The TSH is not helpful once on Levo. You are only over medicated if the FT3 is over range 😊
Thank you so much for the information regarding Hypo to Hyper I did not know about it, I have taken a copy of your information and I do feel better on 100 micrograms. your advice is much appreciated Marz.
If you need more advice/info it would br worth joining Thyroid UK Forum. You will see me there 😊 You will learn so much. Are you gluten free ? Thete is a connection between Hashi's Gluten and UTI's .... I have read.
Ooops ! - just noticed you are on Thyroid UK too - apologies !
