Feeling very weak and fragile

Hi ,

Just wondering if a very low folate and vit d level can cause extreme weakness that ends in body shaking if I do the smallest of tasks ?

I had a ferritin level of 2 and have had 1 iron infusion and now discharged from the clinic so I know I not in the optimal range . Unable to tolerate iron supplements as I have digestive issues that are leaving me debilitated .

I have a very weak feeling in the heart area with sharp pains in left breast area which worries me a lot and the weakness feels worse on lying down and I have to lie on my right side propped up . Can this be from the deficiencies too . Any had any similar symptoms and have they now resolved.

Thank you.

Were your Vit D and folate tested?

Yes vit d was 9 and folate was below range too.

What did your GP say about the discomfort in your heart area?

Have you had your B12 levels tested?

I hope you find answers.

I am not medically trained.

Dr wont look at me shes referred me to gastro as I have terrible stomach problems so she said its up to them to look at things.

I wont go to gp as im made to feel ridiculous and it causes huge amounts of anxiety which exacerbates symptoms.

Thank you for the links.

Hi again,

Thought this link may be of interest

HDA patient care trust

UK charity that offers free second opinions on medical diagnoses and treatment. Think they use a network of specialists in UK.

Can you see a different GP at your GP surgery or is there another GP practice you could change to?

At least you have been referred to a gastro consultant. I hope the gastro can help you.

If talking to your GP is difficult then another possibility might be

Calling NHS 111 number

(999 should be called in an emergency situation)

Writing letters to GP as this avoids face to face confrontation.

Thank you for all the info thats really helpful.

I have been to gastro today and they had cancelled my appointment without notifying me and have put me on a waiting list in another district where I live which has an 11 month wait .

So now I feel very stuck .
