Hi I've been struggling for many years now with my health.whilst I consider myself relatively fit I go through regular bouts of feeling really unwell.I strongly suspect I am coeliac and adhere to a wheat free diet.

I have lately began to experience dizziness, muscle weakness and serious fatigue especially after a few busy shifts or excercise. Consuming alcohol floors me for about a week after.

I am now experiencing pain behind my breastbone and pain around my heart whilst feeling generally crap. I have attended the GP who have done blood tests before telling me I'm fine.

I recently tried a b12 jab from a friend and found symptoms disappeared within 12 hrs and felt good for about a week.

Any c oeliacs out there who have similar symptoms.....any advice welcomed

Hello. My health sounds very like yours ! I am a coeliac and incidentally had a full blood test in August. My B12 result came back at 164 ( below average ) but I wasn’t surprised. For a long time I have been exhausted etc but think was put down as having chronic fatigue by my GP as an easy answer! I’m going with the flow and having a repeat blood test after 3 months so we will see what that brings. GP says last result was in a ‘grey area’ ! I felt very relieved that there is a reason for feeling so rubbish and plan to start questioning treatment when I have all the facts. I shall carefully choose which GP I ask for help as I feel some doctors are more on the ball than others, unfortunately. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi...thanks for your response.I have yet to find a GP who is on the ball. They continually take blood samples until they are satisfied with the result. After many years of this on going problem I am now more than satisfied its a b12 issue resulting from mal absorption and I'm hoping to some how impress than on my GP on next visit. In respect of the fatigue I have found that taking b vitamins orally is a waste of time.Try the Vitamin B 12 Power Patch .Recently found them on ebay / Amazon reasonably priced and they definitely bring you out of that fatigued feeling at least for a while.Good luck with your GP!!...In the past I have found kinesiologist more beneficial than GP's☺

If you read this link it discusses "syndromes", including chronic fatigue syndrome.

Your b12 is quite low at 164. I would get tested for h pylori and positive or negative get b12 injections. If positive you probably wont need lifelong injections because after h pylori treatment you might be able to start absorbing b12 again in quantities that are needed.

As always with b12 injections, folate and iron need to be monitored closely as these get used up once b12 injections start the process of new, healthy red blood cells.
