So I last had a blood test in late May and was diagnosed with B12 deficiency in early June (1 point below the normal level though Folic Acid was much lower according to the GP). I had a series of 6 B12 injections over 2 weeks and after was told to wait 100 days to book another blood test. Symptoms I had experienced before being treated quickly re-emerged a month after my injections, and have worsened gradually since then.
All that time passed and I had my test recently, the results came back today. All the results said was that I should arrange for a routine telephone call, with no cause for concern.
Anyone else had this? My last test results told me to book an appointment, not a phone call.

Hi loomis I think you should have gone back to your doctor when the symptoms returned a month after your "loading doses".
Were you told to supplement with folic acid as this helps process the B12 and together they help your iron to function properly in the body and to make red blood cells?
Write down what your symptoms are now and when they returned after your initial treatment so you have this to hand when on the 'phone.
If you are told that your B12 level is now "Normal" insist that you are given more injections in line with the British Society for Haematologiy guidelines which say "In the presence of discordance between the test result and strong clinical features of deficiency, treatment should not be delayed to avoid neurological impairment".
Hi there, it's how all doctor's surgery have changed their booking system because of something called triage appointment. What I would take from that is there my be something to treat but can be dealt with over the phone and the doctor will advise what to do next.
