As I read it, each ampoule contains ten times as much as you take. The ampoules are twice the volume (2ml rather than the 1ml you refer to).
What country does it come from? The only reference I found (in a very quick search) was from Italy - but I don't think that package looks to be in Italian.
Hi Cheryl171080. I'm not familiar with this brand of B12 - want follows is based on dosage as per the details shown in the image.
So...looks like what you have here is high dose hydroxocobalamin (10mg of hydroxocobalamin suspended on 2mls of liquid.
To get your usual dose of 1mg hydroxocobalamin, you would have to inject 0.2mls of liquid. Because this is such a small amount of liquid, it would be practically impossible to measure this properly using a 2ml syringe, and extremely difficult using a 1ml syringe (because the liquid volume is so small). You'd be able to measure the liquid volume (0.2mls) and hence the dose, if you used a diabetic syringe (these are longer and thinner that standard syringes - and will a,so have the 0.2ml point clearly marked.
Another thing - it's not easy to see but if these are 10mg x 2ml ampoules (it looks like there are 6 x 2ml ampoules), when you've used the 0.2ml from the ampoule (to get the 1mg dose of hydroxocobalamin) you'll have to dispose of the rest - since ampoules are single dose only - the rest will not 'keep'.
The only other thing I would say is...because you bought this online...are you confident that this is a reputable supplier...just wondering because the leaflet in the image looks a little stained around the edges...of it came like this, I'd be a bit concerned about quality control...and it always pays to be extra sure...and extra safe 😀.
Finally, if in any doubt about the dosage / quality, best not to inject and get further advice (perhaps you have a surgery nurse who could help?)
Anyway, hope this helps...good luck 👍
P.s. We can provide advice on B12 suppliers, if you need it.
I have found myself with the same product and whilst I can verify it's authenticity through a website (in theory) it does appear to be too strong to be easily usable. Can you advise what other B12 suppliers are available. I have just joined The Vitamin B12 deficiency support group who can supply when they have stock but I need something sooner. Thanks
