I inject 1ml/mg B12 alternate days. Supply, as you know, has become harder recently so I'm looking around. I came across one that supplies ampoules of 2mg/ml. Does anyone take this dose and if so, how often?

What B12 injection dose do you use?
Hi, not sure if I’ve got the ampoules your talking about. I’ve got hydroxocobalmin 2ml ampoules which have 1000mcg of the hydroxocobalmin, so it’s the same dose of hydroxocobalmin just in more liquid, just takes fractionally longer to inject. We’re currently SI every other day.
Is there any advantage, in your opinion, to getting the hydroxy diluted more as in 1000mcg per 2ml? I am trying to reduce side effects and wondering if this would help. Thank you.
Eileen
Hi Eileen, what side effects are you getting? It’s my partner who’s PA he’s not getting anything I would call side effects from the injection.
Extreme nausea and other exacerbated digestive problems. Insomnia.
No nausea, he does have digestive problems but we think they’re a bit better now. Insomnia is a difficult one for us to answer as my partner has been an insomniac for 50 years! His sleep has gotten worse at the moment but we’re hoping that improves given time.
Thanks for sharing. Yes, insomnia has been my Achilles’ heel as well but it has always been exacerbated by B vitamins. I have chronic digestive problems; they seemed to get worse on the shots and I don’t have any weight to lose. I am going to try lower dose for a while and see if it makes a difference. My bloodwork indicates the shots are working (MMA down from a high of 10 to 0!) so I may be able to go with a lower dose. My blood level responded very quickly to injections. Oral supplements did nothing.
My partners the same, he’s no weight too lose either, though he does have a distended belly, no beer he’s a tee total! I did read on here that someone split there dose in two. Filled up two syringes from the one ampoule and did one injection in morning then second one in the afternoon. That might be worth a try if it’s all too much in one go. Especially if it’s working for you. Oral supplements did nothing for him either apart from upset his stomach and put him off eating.
Thats what im looking to buy. I was diagnosed 20 years ago and was on monthly injections up till 3 years ago, when I was told new guidelines say b12 only needs to be given every 3 months. Since pandemic im doing my own injections, but only get 2 for 6 months so hoping to buy more.
We’re UK. My partner was diagnosed 8 years ago was getting b12 every 8 weeks until February 2020 when UK stopped all gp’s giving b12 injections, we didn’t think it would go this long. Now gp is questioning whether he has PA, we’re not arguing with them have decided to SI, every other day at moment until neurological symptoms disappear. Have to say he’s not feeling great at the moment but some say they did get worse before getting better! We purchased from Germany 100 doses.
Thankyou so much for reply, is there website ? I've been suffering from neurological problems last 3 years and sure its the lack of b12, I cant concentrate or hold information, sore tongue, sore feet, dizziness I have them all. I got extra injection from friend last month and what a difference it made, im due a top up tho I can feel it. So sorry to hear about your husband, hope things improve for him 🙏

recommended on here and we bought the hevert brand same as Narwhal10. It’s 1mg hydroxocobalmin but it’s in a 2ml ampoule. Like I said he’s self injecting every other day at moment.
Hi GalDriver,Like Babydoll, I am current injecting 2 ml but same dose 1 mg (brand - Hevert.) I was injecting 1ml of 1mg of hydroxycobalamin - (brand - Rotadex medica) but due to shipping, Brexit etc. Didn’t have a problem changing.
Thanks, the same change as me. Have you noticed any difference?
It keeps my symptoms at bay, I didn’t note a difference when I changed. Only the amount is more and so I take my time injecting but you do what works for you.
Recently had to change from I.M thigh to SC stomach. Just because my right side is more sensitive/painful than than left. So rotating injection sites was posing problematic. I am weird but my dominant hand is right which neurologists always ask and had right sided trigeminal neuralgia (facial pain). 🤷♀️
