Missed 12 week jab.......

So I'm sitting in the airport waiting for flight for two weeks holiday in France and Spain and just realised I missed my appointment for 12 week jab yesterday. Apart from pas I'm generally in good health and only occasionally feel a bit light headed towards end of 12 weeks. What's the worst that could happen in 2 weeks. Is there any point in taking b12 supplements? Any suggestions?

You can buy injectable B12 over the counter in Europe, so you have the option to self inject if you feel the need. Supplements won't do any harm, but they don't work for everyone.

not available in all countries - think there are some restrictions in spain but you can certainly get it at a pharmacy in France without the need for a prescription.

I would walk into a pharmacy and ask advice . Explain that you have Pernicious Anaemia etc. You can buy B12 over the counter , and needles and syringes also . As it isn't on prescription over there , they would advise you what to do - either S.I. ,if you know how, or direct you to a doctor . It's not worth spoiling your precious holiday for lack of an injection of harmless but powerful B12. Have a lovely holiday . As you have PA ,it's doubtful if tablets would help. Make sure you have plenty of folate/ folic acid as well .

French for pernicious anemia is anémie pernicieuse.

Spanish ". ". ". " anemia perniciosa .

Good luck ! 🍀🍀🍀

If you have P.A. the N.I.C.E guidelines recommend injections every eight weeks so I would look forward to negotiating that with your doctor when you get home. Meanwhile have a great holiday.
