My B12 was 206 and so my doctor put me on weekly shots for the last 10 weeks. After the second shot my stomach problems that I had with diarrhea are gone and have not returned for the last 2 months. Also my calf muscles in my legs had shrunk about 50% in about 2 years and they are back to near normal now after just 2 months on B12 shot every week. The pain I have in my legs when I walk just a short distance though is still there.
I am wondering if the fact that my calf muscles are growing back so fast that there is pain associated with that. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Jim

The pain you are experiencing may be due to the calf muscles repairing/stretching again following a period of shrinkage/atrophy.
Or it could perhaps be that there is something else going on...is this something you have discussed with your GP?
If not, might be a good idea to do so.
Also - perhaps your GP would consider referring you to a physiotherapist? Physio would be able to provide you with an appropriately graded stretching and exercise regime and perhaps ultrasound treatment to facilitate recovery. Can also do hands on manipulation and stretching, if appropriate.
They could also advise on pain relief techniques (thinking here of hot/cold packs and/or TENS machine etc. rather than medications).
When I was first diagnosed I had dreadful trouble with Achilles' tendons / calf stiffness and pain and physio was what made a real difference (hands-in manipulation, ultrasound and exercise regime). The egg sized lumps on the back of both heels are now a distant memory 😉
Apart from that, not something I know a lot about...perhaps others with more knowledge will pop along later.
Really pleased to hear that you are feeling the benefits of the B12 injections and beginning to recover 😄.
Post again if you need more help or support...and let us know how you do with the calfs.
