the range for active B12 is much lower than the range for serum B12 - and your result is in the normal range for active B12 (which usually starts somewhere around 25 ... and is about 20% of the range for serum B12. However both serum and active B12 only tell you what is going on in the cell - hence suggested use of homocysteine and MMA tests in combination with symptoms
