Pathology Investigations

Serum folate level 4.4 ng/ml [2.6 - 20.1]

Serum ferritin level 243 ng/ml [41.0 - 578.0]

This was obviously four years ago, when I thought I was dying, and I am on 3 monthly jabs which seem to do the trick.

Was also diagnosed with IBS at same time.. always thought it was the PA causing that but have found out in recent months, through food elimination that the cause of all my gut issues is eggs... haven't touched them for 2 months and no IBS issues.

I asked the doctor for the PA test (was never offered) and sorted the gut issues out myself...

Only time I have been to the docs in last 3 years is once every 3 months for my jab..

onwards and upwards...

Should have mentioned I was also diagnosed with underactive thyroid.. 100mg daily seems to have sorted that out,

Did you actually get a diagnosis of P.A alanduke and did you supplement your Folate?

Was actually diagnosed with PA.... folate was never mentioned... ill have a look at othwr numerous tests done and see what they say... what should i be looking for?

I'm not a medically trained person but I've had P.A. for 45 years and do know that B12 and folate help iron to make red blood cells and if you are deficient in one or other it interrupts the process.

Your "Serum Folate level 4.4 ng/ml [2.6 - 20.1]" was pretty low in 2012 which is why I asked.

see what you mean.. no one mentioned that to me... ive just had the b12 injections and thyroxine..
