Hi Doubleblank
Looks like from this and your other post healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po... that all your blood results are normal. Bone, liver, kidneys, glucose and FBC all normal. No signs of inflammation either (ESR and C-reactive protein). labtestsonline.org.uk/ has lots of info on all the different blood tests you had done if you are interested.
The only thing that stands out that you have lower back stuff going on according to the results of your lumbar X-ray. This may well be the reason you are having pins and needles in one back/leg/foot - it certainly is the case with me (my L5/S1 disc compressing part of my sciatic nerve). What does your doctor say about this?
Not sure about your arm pins and needles no signs of xrays or anything else to check on the source of this. Have you been referred to a neurologist to investigate these? Hopefully the change in your thyroid meds will help your tiredness/concentration issues.
Sorry I've not been much help!!
I'm very grateful for the answer, as this morning I had a nasty episode, I took Adcal tablets (prescribed by the Dr) at 3am so's not to interfere with medication and foods.
At 5am felt abdominal pain like a cramp abdomen left side; but not a normal wavelike pattern.
I got up and felt as if I was going to faint, felt as if I was boiling and frankly, I didn't know what I was doing. Then I had a bowel movement that left the worst IBS episode standing!(not to go into too great a detail my husband was all for calling someone out, I got over this but have had a much weaker repeat of the faintness and overheating. Drinking lots of water to re-hydrate and just do not feel like eating as I feel bloated and abdomen feels unsettled. Was this a reaction to the tablets?
I'm not a medic so I have no real idea, sorry. It looks like the patient leaflet ( medicines.org.uk/emc/PIL.43... ) mentions diarrhoea as a possible rare side effect so it is possible.
I'd give your GP a call (or talk to a pharmacist) about this strong reaction ASAP to discuss whether to continue on these or switch to something else. If you are still felling unwell you could also call 111.
Not sure what is behind your mood swings / impatience/ muddled / bloating as it could be any of the 3 or a combination of them I think. Given you have just upped your thyroid meds I would give that time to work (as I think they take a while to work) before doing any further tests. Maybe they will have begun to improve by the time of your GP at your appointment in a few weeks time?
Sorry, in answer to your question, not been referred to neurologist, but seeing Dr on 1st June about the results and given my Dad had an operation to pare away some bone to free off his sciatic nerve(had numbness in foot/feet? and back pain), I think this is Dr is looking in this direction.
What concerns me greatly is this could be PA worsening (Symptoms at moment, mood swings impatience, muddled, bloating - this could be any of the below
IBS, Hypothyroidism and PA
I don't know which private blood test would be most productive
but I just know something has to be done and as my injection is due 31st of this month I am anxious to gain some insight before the dose!
